Mamma Santa's Cheese Pizza

After reading Nancy Heller’s post about Dewey’s I was really in the mood for pizza. So we ended up picking up a pizza from Mama Santa’s. Ben and I have only been there once in the last 6 years… primarily due to the parking situation in Little Italy. Between the three of us we polished off a large cheese pizza, even Jonathan who does not tend to be into pizza really enjoyed it. We were amazed at how inexpensive it was, only $6.50 for a large 15″ cheese pizza! We are going to make sure it is a lot less than 6 years until our next visit.

My husband and I used to walk down to Mamma S’s and pick up a pepperocini pizza. I have heard that the pizza has really gotten worse over the years, so, I am glad it was good.

I agree Mamma Santa’s is a wonderfully cheap and delicious asset to Cleveland’s Little Italy. As the previous comment mentioned, I have had pizzas that slightly disappointed. But when they are good, they are GOOD. I am glad they are still around.
    Thanks.

    Ben–

I’m not one to criticize others’ parenting skills, but how can you raise a child who doesn’t much care for pizza? That is unamerican!! Don’t let child services know about this.

I guess Jonathan is more of a “pizza snob.” He doesn’t like much sauce and prefers full-fat cheese (which I’m pretty sure are used in Mama Santa’s and Geraci’s). He’ll eat pizza not to his specifications, but he’ll pick at it and/or grumble about it (especially excess sauce or the presence of mushrooms).
