I just found out that Top Chef is going on the road this summer in a 20 city road show. I enjoyed the show on TV because the chefs involved seem to really have talent and a passion for cooking. (unlike other cooking shows, like Hell’s Kitchen which seem to pick contestants based on entertainment value instead of cooking talent) I cringed a little when they started with the obtrusive product placement and emphasis, but I think this is going too far. Fortunately/unfortunately however you look at it — Cleveland is not on the list. Any thoughts?

The idea sounds pretty tacky but I’m not sure I can resist going when it comes to Detroit. Hopefully they will actually cook and not just parade contestants around.
I was planning on going to the Pittsburgh show, but it sold out quickly. Seems kind of a far way to go on the off chance I’d get in so I decided against it. Oh well, maybe next time. In the meantime there is always the Fabulous Food Show in November at the IX!
